“Do you want me to get a human for you?” Holly fidgeted nervously, struggling to stand up straighter.

“No, stay.” He insisted, desperate. “Don’t leave me.” he looked away from her, avoiding eye contact.

Crap, this could end up going down hill very fast. “Levi, look at me, please.” she tilted his head, trying to force his eyes to meet hers. “I won’t leave you, but we need to get you some food, okay?”

He breathed, staring straight into her eyes, he slowly nodded, trying his best not to break eye contact with her. He let out a slightly audible “Please” before closing his eyes, leaning against the wall.

Holly slipped one of his arms over shoulder. “Levi, you can walk alright?” she knew they needed to get to an area with more people. Nothing too crowded, but definitely more than just them.

The man hung his head, not bothering to raise it. “Yeah, sure.” he said strongly, as if he was trying to convince himself he had enough strength than what he really had at the moment.

“Alright, just hang in there. We’ll get you someone, okay?” Holly started walking to the nearest road, worried about Levi. He really didn’t look so good right now. Wincing, because wow, Levi might have broken some her ribs, hopefully she wasn’t bleeding, she walked on.

Levi followed her, dragging his feet along heavily. He couldn’t help but let his curiosity feed on him any longer and had to ask. “Why are you helping me…?”

Holly rolled her eyes at that.hadn’t they been over this before? “Why do you think?” she said, her sarcasm almost overwhelming the rhetorical question.

“Yes… But why are you help….” He lost his breath and closed his eyes, swallowing. He didn’t have the energy to bicker. “… I mean, why now?” Why after he mercilessly beat her only minutes before?
